Position summary:
Provides analysis of financial and strategic risks and opportunities of business lines. Supports the finance and cash management functions of the company. Advances financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections, accounting and tax related services; preparing growth plans; and providing advice and support to corporate and business line staff that perform accounting, billing and financial reporting functions. The position is located in Aurora, Nebraska.
Essential functions:
• Provides strategic financial advice and analyses to the CEO and senior management.
• Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishes functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
• Develops financial projections and analysis of proposed new product or business lines and assessments of the financial risks associated with the same.
• Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; participates in production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.
• Develops organizational strategies by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement; accumulating capital to fund expansion.
• Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; developing action plans.
• Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
• Maximizes return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities; maintaining relationships with the investment community.
• Reports financial status by developing forecasts; reporting results; analyzing variances; developing improvements.
• Works closely with the Human Resources department to provide analysis and leadership on payroll and benefit cost related issues.
• Works with the CEO and Board of Directors to set the strategic cash and financial risk management vision and is charged with delivering that strategy to the company management.
• Develops financial risk management tools, practices, and policies to analyze and report enterprise financial risks, and to manage those risks.
• Ensures the organization's financial risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations, rating agency standards, and strategic imperatives of the organization.
Other responsibilities:
• Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Accomplishes finance and financial risk management organizational mission by completing related tasks and goals as needed.
• Ability and willingness to work non-standard hours as needed.
Education, experience, and skills:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field (MBA preferred).
• Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA or CPA).
• 5+ years of experience in a senior financial or similar senior managerial position.
• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and enterprise level financial and payroll reporting software.
• Knowledge of economic and financial analysis tools utilized to support decision making processes.
• Ability to apply organizational and management practices as applied to the analysis and evaluation of programs, policies and operational needs.
• Apply advanced principles and practices of budget preparation, administration, revenue forecasting and analysis, finance and fiscal planning.
• Provide professional and administrative leadership and direction to the Accounting, Finance, and Financial Risk management functions.
• Analyze and interpret fiscal accounting records and prepare accurate and complete financial reports.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Results-oriented, strategic thinker and planner.
• Experience in partnering with an executive team.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability and willingness to travel alone.
