Reports to:  HIS Office Manager

Position summary:  Primary responsibility is customer care. Assist customers on the phone and in person with sales, service and support, answering general computer and internet related questions, scheduling appointments, receiving payments, clerical tasks and general store maintenance.

Essential functions:

• Utilizes excellent communication skills to interact with customers and co-workers.

• Effectively manages all incoming calls.

• Possesses the ability to multi-task.

• Efficient, accurate and timely entry of sales orders, invoices and other data entry and record keeping according to established procedures, guidelines and polices.

• Assists new customers with product and service selection.

• Once trained, answers general service questions and assists customers with basic PC and Internet troubleshooting tasks.

• Collect and deposit customer payments and complete related reports.

• Performs general clerical tasks.

• Performs other work related duties as assigned.


Physical requirements: 

• Ability to lift and move a minimum of 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds on occasion.

• Ability to manipulate and use office machines, hand tools, computer keyboards and components.

• Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for short periods of time.

• Ability to hear and see auditory and visual commands and signals from computer, telephony and other electronic equipment.


Preferred education, experience, and skills:

• High school education or equivalent.

• Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills are a must.

• Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines and optimum utilization of resources.

• A strong interest and aptitude in general and computer related technology would be helpful.

• Customer service and/or retail experience would be helpful.

• Experience in operation of computers and software, particularly Microsoft Windows & Office would be helpful.

• General accounting and data entry skills helpful.

• Willingness and ability to learn additional hardware, software and Internet related information.

• Ability to use office equipment such as copier, fax machine, and multi-extension telephone.

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well.
