* Position summary: This position will oversee day-to-day implementation and administration of all benefit plans. monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal laws for a variety of HR functions and will be responsible for ensuring all external or internal audits are completed.
Essential functions:• Plans and directs day-to-day implementation and administration of benefit programs.
• Determines benefit eligibility, creates benefit enrollment packets and conducts benefit orientations.
• Oversees employee benefit awareness; communicates benefits available, answers benefit related questions and informs employees of any changes to existing programs.
• Assists with open enrollment.
• Processes weekly benefit interface files.
• Coordinates COBRA with third-party administrator.
• Remits bi-weekly 401(k) deferrals and reviews all requested distributions.
• Responsible for coordinating 401(k) new participant meetings and processing election paperwork.
• Audit payroll hours to ensure ACA compliance
• Audit internal HR processes and procedures at all locations to ensure compliance.
• Responsible for ensuring employment related regulatory filings and employee communications are completed on time with the appropriate government agencies, such as, FCC 395, EEO-1, OSHA, FLSA postings, benefit disclosures, etc.
• Keep abreast of upcoming or proposed employment law changes, including but not limited to, wage and hour, FMLA, ADA, ACA, state specific policies, etc.
• Maintains employee personnel and other related HR files in an orderly and timely manner and ensures all necessary documentation is included and releases only to authorized individuals.
• Provides reports on regular basis as directed or requested to management to keep management informed of all human resource and compliance efforts.
• Receives, researches, completes and performs all necessary follow up on unemployment claims and employment verification requests.
• Performs online background checks for perspective new hires according to defined processes.
• Serves as a backup for payroll processing.
• Completes various HR reporting.
Other responsibilities:• Assists the Human Resource department with awareness and implementation of HR/Company policy.
• Performs a variety of filing tasks within the department.
• Stresses quality and detail in every work situation.
• Provides various backup functions within the Human Resource Department.
• Performs similar work related duties as assigned.
Preferred education, experience, and skills:• Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is essential.
• Must have a minimum of 1 – 3 years of HR or compliance experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to prioritize work and to meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple assignments.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well.
