* Position summary: The Assistant Accounting Manager plays a key role in supporting core financial operations, including billing, accounts payable, and regulatory compliance. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to accurate financial reporting, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration while gaining exposure to multiple areas of the accounting function.Essential functions:• Partner in managing and executing monthly billing processes across multiple service lines, ensuring accuracy and completeness.• Reconcile billing systems with the general ledger and investigate discrepancies to maintain data integrity.• Review revenue, surcharges, and tax calculations across billing platforms to ensure compliance and accuracy.• Support cash application processes, including reconciliation of cash and credit card payments.• Review vendor invoices for accuracy, appropriate documentation, and approvals; assist with purchase order tracking.• Serve as a point of contact for vendor and customer inquiries, resolving billing and payment discrepancies in a timely manner.• Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations; prepare supporting analysis to ensure accurate financial records.• Assist with intercompany transactions, including reconciliation of suspense accounts and validation of activity.• Contribute to month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are complete.• Prepare and support compliance filings, including sales tax, excise tax returns, 1099 reporting, and property tax filings.• Maintain and enhance accounting procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls.• Support telecom-related data processes, including carrier data, billing rates, and system interfaces.Other responsibilities:• Demonstrate flexibility to support critical deadlines, including occasional non-standard work hours.• Maintain consistent attendance and a high level of accountability in completing assigned work.• Assist with special projects and additional accounting functions as needed.Preferred education, experience, and skills:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred; equivalent experience combined with an associate degree will be considered.• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial systems. • Solid analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well.I have read the above job description and understand the job requirements.
