Description
Position summary:
Conduct payroll process for 100+ employees and various human resource reporting and clerical tasks within the Human Resources Department.
Essential functions:
- Learns, understands, and applies company policy and government regulations in connection with payroll procedures.
- Reviews and processes payroll for Nedelco by maintaining all applicable information within payroll system.
- Serves as Relay payroll backup.
- Processes E-Verify information for all new hires in accordance with federal law. Receives, researches, completes, and performs all necessary follow up on unemployment claims and employment verification requests.
- Coordinates employment anniversary recognition program.
- Maintains personnel files and performs a variety of filing tasks within the department.
- Participates with other departmental staff in the completion of a wide variety of projects, as requested.
- Assists with reporting and tracking of related information on an as needed basis.
- Assists Human Resources Manager as needed.
- Attends recommended training seminars and strives to expand personal human resource and payroll related knowledge.
Other responsibilities
- Ability and willingness to work non-standard hours as needed.
- Performs similar work duties as assigned.
Preferred education, experience, and skills:
- Bachelor or Associate Degree preferred.
- 1 – 3 years of HR or compliance experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is essential.
- Ability to prioritize work and to meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple assignments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well.
