Position Summary:

Responsible for the development and implementation of equitable and diverse Relay Culture and Sensitivity Training programs for Hamilton Relay Staff. Training programs will correlate to people who may be deaf, hard of hearing, or have difficulty speaking and are served by Hamilton Relay.  

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and implements culture and sensitivity training modules that correlate to people who may be deaf, hard of hearing, or have difficulty speaking and are served by Hamilton Relay to ensure compliance with contractual requirements for each state and relay center.
  • Schedules, tracks, and reports employees’ attendance of training classes.
  • Presents culture and sensitivity training modules to Hamilton staff using a hybrid of virtual, in-person and recorded trainings.
  • Maintains inventory and filing structure of all components of culture and sensitivity training.
  • Attends and contributes to training events including Relay Operator meetings and seminars offered by the company.
  • Offers solutions and options when presenting problems or concerns to supervisors.
  • Maintains all reporting required by the state and company.
  • Organizes and prioritizes multiple deadlines and projects.
  • Manages and develops programs related to area of expertise.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in job related professional organizations.
  • Performs a variety of clerical support.

Other responsibilities:

  • Ability and willingness to work non-standard hours as needed.
  • Attends company summits.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, public relations, marketing, technology, or related area or comparable work experience along with a minimum of three years related experience in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience in the telecommunications field, Telecommunications Relay Service or Captioned Telephone Service is a strong plus.
  • Ability to communicate fluently through the use of American Sign Language.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent English writing skills.
  • Ability to develop effective outreach and educational campaigns.
  • Ability to confidently communicate (oral and written) with a wide variety of audiences.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, organize and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capacity to develop and maintain effective working relationships with the regulatory body, organizations within the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
  • Knowledge of and ability to understand various communication modes used by current and potential relay users.
