* Position summary: Responsible for growing Hamilton's presence and revenue within an assigned market by developing existing client relationships, identifying and closing additional sales opportunities, and creating new business opportunities through active community engagement. This position combines relationship management, inside sales, and community-based business development. The Market Relationship Manager serves as a primary relationship point for assigned Hamilton clients, carries an individual sales quota associated with new and existing client revenue, and acts as a community scout by identifying prospective clients, qualifying opportunities, and scheduling new-business meetings for the appropriate sales team members.
Essential functions:• Build and sustain strong, long-term relationships with assigned Hamilton clients to support satisfaction, retention, and account growth.
• Serve as the primary relationship contact for assigned accounts, maintaining regular, proactive communication and coordinating client requests with the appropriate Hamilton teams.
• Understand each client’s business objectives, technology environment, challenges, priorities, and future needs.
• Conduct regular client conversations and needs assessments, and proactively contact existing clients about relevant Hamilton products, services, promotions, and technology solutions to uncover additional sales opportunities.
• Monitor client satisfaction, engagement, retention risks, and emerging needs within assigned accounts; advocate for clients internally; and coordinate with the appropriate Hamilton teams to address concerns and issues.
• Coordinate with technical, sales, operational, and other internal resources on client renewals, expansions, technology initiatives, and opportunities requiring additional expertise to strengthen the client relationship.
• Achieve an assigned individual inside-sales quota by identifying and managing account-growth opportunities through the sales process. Generate revenue through cross-selling, upselling, renewals, and new technology needs, and maintain an active pipeline that meets established sales activity, pipeline, and revenue expectations.
• Prepare and present solutions and proposals appropriate to the scope of the opportunity.
• Actively represent Hamilton at chamber, local business, civic, community, philanthropic, and networking events within the assigned market.
• Develop authentic, ongoing relationships with business leaders, prospective clients, referral partners, and centers of influence that generate introductions and new-business opportunities.
• Identify organizations and individuals that may represent potential new-business opportunities for Hamilton.
• Initiate conversations with prospective clients to understand their businesses, technology needs, challenges, timing, and potential fit with Hamilton.
• Research target organizations, event attendees, sponsoring organizations, and local business activity before community and philanthropic events to prioritize contacts and prepare purposeful, sales-focused outreach.
• Qualify prospective opportunities and determine the appropriate next step within Hamilton’s sales process.
• Schedule qualified discovery meetings and sales appointments for the appropriate Hamilton sales team member.
• Provide complete background, relationship context, business intelligence, and recommended next steps when transitioning an opportunity.
• Complete prompt and personalized follow-up after networking events through phone, email, LinkedIn, or other appropriate channels.
• Maintain an active calendar of relevant community and business events and prioritize activities based on relationship and business-development potential.
• Maintain accurate and timely CRM records for client interactions, prospects, referrals, networking activity, opportunities, scheduled meetings, and forecasts.
• Track performance against established client-growth, sales, pipeline, and new-business-development goals.
• Coordinate with sales and marketing to align market priorities, campaigns, events, sponsorships, and prospecting efforts with established client-growth and new-business-development goals.
• Provide feedback regarding competitive activity, emerging client needs, local market trends, and opportunities identified through client and community interactions.
• Participate actively in sales strategy and planning efforts.
Other responsibilities:• Ability and willingness to work non-standard hours as needed.
• Ability and willingness to travel independently throughout the assigned market.

Preferred education, experience, and skills:• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, information technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to develop trust with clients, prospects, community leaders, and referral partners.
• Demonstrated success in consultative sales, including prospecting, qualifying opportunities, building a pipeline, and achieving established sales goals.
• Willingness and ability to carry an individual sales quota and be accountable for achieving established revenue goals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to initiate conversations, establish rapport, and develop professional relationships with new contacts in business and community settings.
• Strong listening and discovery skills with the ability to identify business needs and potential sales opportunities.

• Proficient with CRM systems, sales engagement tools, Microsoft Office applications, and other sales technologies.
• Knowledge of the sales process from prospecting and qualification through proposal and close.
• Comfortable handling objections and rejection professionally.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across sales, marketing, technical, and operational teams.
• Ability to develop and maintain a strong understanding of Hamilton’s services, value proposition, and competitive position.
• Possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability and willingness to travel independently throughout the assigned market.
